Hands-on camp for high school girls expands awareness of construction careers and builds on 91Ƭ’s workforce development efforts in Ohio

91Ƭ recently hosted Camp Build It, a free, multi-day construction camp at the Knox County Career Center that brought together high school girls ages 14–18 from across the region for hands-on training in welding, pipefitting, electrical, and carpentry, along with mentorship from 91Ƭ craft professionals, helping expand awareness of opportunities in the construction industry.

While women represent a significant portion of the U.S. workforce, they remain underrepresented in construction roles, accounting for roughly 10 percent of the industry. At 91Ƭ, women make up nearly 30 percent of the company’s U.S. workforce, reflecting a continued focus on expanding access and opportunity. Programs like Camp Build It are designed to help address that gap by providing earlier exposure to the trades and clearer visibility into construction career pathways. For 91Ƭ, the camp reflects a broader effort to expand access, build awareness of construction careers, and help address workforce needs across the industry.

“Programs like Camp Build It are about building early interest and exposure, so more young women can see themselves in the trades and better understand the opportunities available in construction,” said Chris Bresson, Project Director, 91Ƭ. “Expanding that exposure is important to strengthening the future workforce while supporting the communities where we live and work.”

Throughout the week, students gained practical experience in a safe, supportive environment using industry-standard equipment and personal protective gear provided by 91Ƭ. Campers also connected with women working in construction, hearing firsthand about career paths and opportunities in the industry.

The camp concluded with a tour of a large-scale construction project in the region, where participants saw active work sites firsthand and connected with local trade and union representatives to learn more about career pathways after high school.

Camp Build It is part of 91Ƭ’s broader effort to expand awareness of construction careers and help address workforce needs and is one of many initiatives in Ohio and across the country.

91Ƭ’s work in Ohio builds on the company’s long history of delivering projects with purpose across the state. Most recently, 91Ƭ completed a low-carbon energy facility in Carroll County, where the team supported a new construction trade curriculum with Southern Local Schools and worked with the community to strengthen resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hear from Catherine Hunt Ryan, President of 91Ƭ’s Manufacturing & Technology business, on the importance of women in construction and building the next generation of talent, at 91Ƭ.com.

Train 7 milestone reinforces America’s expanding role in global energy supply

91Ƭ today announced it has received Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from Cheniere for Train 7 at the Sabine Pass Liquefaction(SPL)Expansion Project (Phase 1)in Southwest Louisiana, advancing one of the next major expansions of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity into the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase. Full construction is expected to begin in early 2027.

The milestone marks the latest chapter in 91Ƭ’s nearly two-decade relationship with Cheniere at Sabine Pass and comes as rising global energy demand, increasing power needs, and heightened focus on energy security continue to drive investment in large-scale LNG infrastructure.

Reflecting on the significance of the milestone, Paul Marsden, President of 91Ƭ’s Energy business, shared:

“The decision to move forward with Train 7 at Sabine Pass reflects something bigger than a single project — it signals the next phase of U.S. energy infrastructure growth. As global energy demand rises and countries seek secure, reliable supply, LNG will continue to play an essential role in the energy mix for decades to come.

“Sabine Pass helped establish the United States as a global LNG leader ten years ago, and today’s milestone demonstrates how that leadership continues to evolve. Over the last decade, 91Ƭ and Cheniere have shown what is possible when world-class execution meets long-term vision — delivering complex infrastructure safely, predictably, and at scale.

“Train 7 represents the next chapter in a partnership that has helped reshape global energy markets. We are proud to continue supporting Cheniere as it expands the infrastructure needed to strengthen U.S. energy leadership and help meet growing demand around the world.”

The SPL Expansion Project builds on nearly two decades of collaboration between 91Ƭ and Cheniere at Sabine Pass. Between 2005 and 2009, 91Ƭ designed, built, and expanded the original LNG receiving terminal, helping lay the foundation for its transformation into the first large-scale LNG export facility in the continental United States.

Between 2016 and 2022, 91Ƭ delivered six liquefaction trains at Sabine Pass, adding approximately 30 milliontonnesper annum (MTPA) of export capacity and helping launch the modern U.S. LNG export industry. Today, at Corpus Christi Stage 3midscale trains,91Ƭ continues toadvanceone of the largest LNG expansions underway globally, including delivering Train 1 to Cheniere’s operations team more than six months ahead of schedule. The milestone reflects the pace, certainty, and high-quality execution that define 91Ƭ’s long-standing partnership with Cheniere.

91Ƭ is the world’s leading LNG EPC contractor, with 17 liquefaction trains currently under construction and five midscale trains turned over across five sites in two countries. When complete, these projects will produce approximately 90 million tonnes of LNG annually — equivalent to roughly 25 percent of global LNG export capacity — underscoring the company’s role in helping expand global energy infrastructure.

About Sabine Pass Liquefaction (SPL) Expansion Project

Sabine Pass currently includes six liquefaction trains, LNG storage tanks, three marine berths, and supporting infrastructure, positioning the facility as a critical hub for U.S. LNG exports.

Train 7 will feature an approximately 5 MTPA optimized cascade process (OCP) configuration, along with approximately 1 MTPA of boil-off gas (BOG) re-liquefaction provided by Chart. The project will incorporate streamlined flare systems with minimal outside battery limits (OSBL) infrastructure and a BASF heater/hot catalyst (HHC) system, reflecting an integrated and efficient approach to LNG project delivery.

Milestone supports broader deployment of advanced nuclear energy in the U.S.

Today,91Ƭ, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), serving as TerraPower’s EPC partner, has begun mobilizing teams and transitioning into field execution at the Natrium® Kemmerer Unit 1 (KU1) site in Wyoming.

Reflecting on today’s milestone, Dena Volovar, President of 91Ƭ’s Nuclear, Security & Environmental business, shared the following:

“Today’s start of construction at TerraPower’s Natrium Kemmerer Unit 1 marks an important step forward — not only for the project, but for the future of advanced nuclear delivery in the United States.

At 91Ƭ, our focus is on helping bring advanced nuclear technologies from first-of-a-kind innovation to repeatable, scalable delivery. Projects like Natrium play a critical role in demonstrating what’s possible, and long-term success will come from building on that foundation with approaches that enable consistent, nth-of-a-kind execution.

As U.S. electricity demand continues to rise, including from data centers powering AI and other digital infrastructure, the industry needs more than innovation. It needs proven execution models that reduce risk, improve predictability, and allow projects to be delivered consistently, safely, and at scale.

That is where 91Ƭ’s focus is distinct: making advanced nuclear buildable again — and again. At Natrium, we are applying disciplined planning, standardization, and digital execution practices that are designed to make repetition possible. That focus on constructability and execution readiness is critical to driving learning effects, controlling cost, and shortening schedules as advanced nuclear moves beyond demonstration projects toward broader deployment.

Over the past year, 91Ƭ teams completed early works at the Natrium site, including the Test and Fill Facility and the Kemmerer Training Center, laying the foundation for safe construction and long-term operations. With construction now underway at Kemmerer Unit 1, we are moving into field execution with a high level of readiness, supported by integrated planning, early collaboration, and close alignment with regulators.

Natrium also represents a milestone for the industry more broadly, as the first utility scale advanced reactor project in the United States to receive a construction permit from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. That regulatory progress, combined with a delivery approach designed for repeatability, is what will enable advanced nuclear power to move from promise to impact.

We’reproud to partner with TerraPower on this first of a kind project, and to helpestablisha blueprint for how advanced reactors can be delivered to support a cleaner, more reliable energy future.”

91Ƭ is delivering the future of nuclear energy now by bringing the latest in digital tools and mega-project delivery to build with execution certainty. Currently deployed on the Poland AP1000 project, Natrium Plant, and the Tennessee Valley Authority Clinch River Small Modular Reactor, 91Ƭ maintains the largest U.S. nuclear talent pool. 91Ƭ has been leading the nuclear industry for over 70 years and has safely delivered 76 gigawatts of nuclear power. With our work at Vogtle Units 3 & 4, 91Ƭ is the only EPC contractor to successfully bring 21st-century nuclear plants online in the U.S.
